Devices, Software, Technology

I am using a Palm® Treo™ 600. And this model of the Palm® Treo™ still runs on Palm® OS unlike the latest Palm® Treo™ 700. And the default email progam is simply called Mail. While using Mail, downloading emails, it gave an error message saying the memory is full. And since I have a copy of the emails left on the server, I simply delete all the emails. But this is the first time I got the memory full error. And every since then, problems happened.

Purging never worked and it make my Palm® Treo™ 600 reboot all the time. I did a delete of every email until I reached the last 144 emails that all said no title as subject. To me it looks like partially downloaded mails.

I first tried synchronizing the data for back up, did a hard reset and erased all data and restored all data. It also restored the problem it already had so that did not help. I just decided to look for some other email software.

I found three: SnapperMail, ChatterMail and MsgAgent. The first two I mentioned are shareware. They have excellent looking websites with some good reviews and testimonials. The last one is freeware and the official website is on a free hosting account on Tripod! Looking at the website looks very untrustable and can be gone tomorrow. But this is free, and me, being the cheap guy looking for the cheapest software deal around, I go for anything free unless they really perform bad.

I did not even bother to look into SnapperMail and ChatterMail, all I need to do is read emails while I am away from my PC and being able to send too. But the permanent software is still on my computer, not my phone. So I just need the bare essentials for an email software running on my PDA. After downloading it, and installing it. I tried it right away and it works perfectly. And since it is very lightweight, it runs very fast. MsgAgent is a very cool email software for the Palm® Treo™ 600/650.

MyTreo.net gives it a 3 stars rating. For me, this is software is 5 stars already.
